I think that for most of their lives Andy 
probably equaled or outweighed Tiki (the 
neighbor's Yorkie) and they were best friends 
from the beginning.  Spot, however, though he 
quickly warmed up to Andy once the latter moved 
in, would never do anything but stand on a chair 
or something and hiss at Tiki . . .
