I'm not aware of anything that has caused the kind of problems LinkScanner
produced.  One of our sites was getting millions of page views a week from
LinkScanner.  Even the worst-behaved robots are nowhere near that bad.

That's reasonable... just not the idiot part of it that pre-fetches every
link.  What really bugged me was that the company never really seemed to
acknowledge what a dumb idea it was.
